Looking for somewhere to go, we came across Chris Townend’s, Wise Birding, who was doing a Mainly Mammal Trip to Bolivia, we enquired about the possibility for all 6 of us for next year. Following several communications we ended up accepting a choice of going this year, but on our own. Bolivia wasn’t somewhere that we had considered before, but after reading various trip reports and looking at the itinerary, it looked quite exciting. One concern is that it is mainly mammals with some birding, not something we have really done before.
We fly to Santa Cruz via San Jose in Brazil, arriving around 11.00 in the morning, giving plenty of time to get sorted out and acclimatised to a new country.
