Today we went further afield and were taken through some real countryside with villages and roadside dwellings. We saw Indian Roller, Wire-tailed Swallow, Chestnut-bellied sandgrouse and Isabelline, Variable and Black-eared wheatears along with shrikes and Large grey babblers, then we came back to the bund and walked up to one of the maharajah's unused palaces.
The view was breathtaking - and the monkeys were a bit of a nuisance but kept their distance. As we returned to the hotel we stopped at the dam and managed to see a Brown Crake which skittered across the rocks and dived in and out of the vegetation. We managed a huge 123 species today.

River terns and whiskered terns patrolled up and down and there were hundreds of duck on the water. A very obliging hoopoe sat in a tree and a Brown Rock Chat flitted around the buildings keeping us company for lunch.
