Spain in January 2010
A last minute decision saw us flying to Malaga for a short break in Andulacia.
Merja Zerga and Marsh Owls
While we stood around and looked for owls we were approached by a local lad complete with bird books and promise of sites. After standing round and eventually seeing one fly over in the dark we agree to meet up next day and go round the other side of the marsh where he knew Marsh Owls were.
We met a young man who ferried us round a breach in the road and then walked round an island but no luck with owls. The trip back was notable for the oar breaking in mid stream and the boat careering through the breach out of control.

Up the Coast
After we landed and sorted out the minibus, we headed north along the coast towards Essouria.
