As bird migrant activity slowed down, flower, especially orchid, hunting took over. The first orchids of the year were the Early Purples on the access road to the Ovs. This was followed by a visit to Marden meadow for the spectacle of thousands of Green-winged Orchids in what was a very damp and quite lush field.
