Kuwait - Jan 27-Feb 3rd

We decided to do a winter trip to Kuwait to look for some Western Palearctic birds that are difficult to see elsewhere, especially Grey Hypocolious. We booked flights with Turkish airlines via Istanbul which left on Saturday afternoon and arrived early Sunday morning, having booked a weeks guiding with Pekka Fagel.
After landing, we were directed to the visa hall were our passports were copied, we filled in a form, got a visa and then had it stamped by a member of the police and had a fingerprint taken. We then walked along to the luggage reclaim and collected our cases which were among the last to arrive. We went through into the arrivals lounge to wait for Pekka who arrived about 10 minutes later. We made our introductions and set off to his car. The cases just about fitted in the back and we squeezed in with three in the back making it a very tight fit. Pekka took us to our hotel where we were able to check in and dump our bags before setting off to Green Island for our first day of birding in Kuwait.
